Terms of service
These terms govern the use of SmartTag by restaurants, bars and small businesses (the “Customer”). By signing up you confirm you have read and accepted them.
1. The service
SmartTag provides a digital menu with QR code/NFC access, order intake and management (table, pickup, delivery), stock management with low-stock alerts, and ticket printing on a thermal printer through the browser or a local agent. The available features are those described on the website at the time you sign up.
2. Free trial and subscription
- Every new venue gets a 31-day free trial, no credit card required.
- After the trial you can choose the monthly (€8.99) or yearly (€100) plan. Prices are in euro; applicable taxes are shown at checkout.
- The subscription renews automatically and can be cancelled at any time from the Billing area: it stays active until the end of the period already paid.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. If a payment fails, the service stays active for a short grace period and is then suspended.
3. Expiry and suspension
When the trial or subscription ends, the public menu stays visible but editing and receiving new orders are paused until a plan is activated. Your data is not deleted right away and you can reactivate whenever you like.
4. Customer responsibilities
- You are responsible for prices, descriptions, allergens and legally required information shown on your menu, and for the content you upload.
- You are responsible for keeping your and your staff’s credentials and PINs safe.
- If you collect data from your own customers you are the controller and must inform them as required by law; SmartTag acts as your processor.
- You may not use the service for unlawful activity, to post offensive content, or to try to compromise the platform’s security.
5. What SmartTag is not
- Orders and printed tickets are not tax documents: receipts and invoices must be issued with your own fiscal register or software.
- Stock figures rely on the recipes and quantities you enter; they do not replace a physical inventory, which remains your responsibility.
- Compatibility with a specific printer depends on its model and setup; we recommend printing a test ticket before using it in service.
6. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the service available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation (maintenance, provider failures, your venue’s connection). To the extent permitted by law, SmartTag is not liable for indirect damages or lost profits, and total liability is limited to the amount paid by the Customer in the previous 12 months. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
7. Data and leaving
Your venue’s data remains yours. You can ask for a copy or for deletion at any time (see Privacy). We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or is used abusively.
8. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; for material changes we will notify you with reasonable notice. Italian law applies; consumers keep the right to sue in the courts of their place of residence.
9. Contact
